Sony is expanding the device options of its for PlayStation Vue with some highly requested platforms. On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Japanese console producer announced that users can watch now their favorite sports, movies and TV shows through PlayStation Vue on Android TVs.
PlayStation Vue On Android TV
Those users who already have a PlayStation Vue account can begin streaming their favorite TV content by downloading the PlayStation Vue app. The application is working on Android TVs running versions of Android OS 4.4 or higher.
Through the PS Vue website, those users who are new to PlayStation Vue can sign up for a seven-day free trial. Then the users can link their account to their Android TV. Various plans are available to choose from, including a new Ultra plan with Showtime and HBO.
According to Android Headlines, the basic plan offers more than 55 channels and costs $29.99 per month ($39.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations). The most expensive plan includes access to more than 100 channels and costs $64.99 per month.
PlayStation Vue On Mac And PC
According to PlayStation's blog, web support for both Mac and PC is also planned to come soon. For these two new devices, users can sign up for PlayStation Vue via the web without the need of a PlayStation console. PS Vue service access on PC and Mac devices will include some unique features, such as a "mini-player." This feature will allow users to continue browsing PS Vue for a convenient experience, while shrinking the player to the corner of the browser window.
A launch date for PlayStation Vue service access on Mac and PC is not yet know. The addition of Android TVs and the soon to come support on PC and Mac add to the growing list of popular PlayStation Vue compatible devices such as Roku and PS4 and Roku, as well as Android and iOS mobile devices. PlayStation Vue content can be simultaneously streamed on up to five devices. Users can also record hundreds of shows at once, taking advantage of PlayStation's Vue innovative cloud-based DVR.
