Hardly a week after the Nielson ranking of best iPhone and Android Apps was released, Google has come out with its own list of best Android Apps of 2012. Announcing the list on the Google Play Store, the search engine giant said the list includes 10 apps, some of which launched in 2012 while others were updates issued to ensure accessibility, utility and beauty.
"Almost all of them are available globally and offer a great user experience on both tablets and phones. From excellent tools to objects of beauty, each of these applications represents the best of Google Play," Google said.
The first in the list is Evernote, the popular note taking application. The version 4.3 of Evernote for Android was updated recently and it brought many new features to the table including a de-cluttered Note Editor toolbar on Android.
The social bookmarking service Pinterest ranked second. Pinterest launched the Android application in October this year and undoubtedly the app "makes it simple and fast to pin" on Android devices.
Third in the list, Grimm's Snow White, is a paid app on Google Play. The popular app is an interactive pop-up fairy tale book for children. Pocket, an offline reader that lets users save and view articles among many other things, comes fourth in the list. Ranked fifth, Expedia allows users to book hotels and flights at their convenience. The app saw an update last month which gave users the option of booking flights on their smartphones. Below is the Google list of "10 Best Android Apps of 2012."
