Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 recently went live and people are excited to play the game in more ways than one. For those who played the first Xenoverse game, they'll be able to transfer their character and data into Xenoverse 2, albeit with some limitations. Here is a full guide on what are the things you can and can't transfer, and how to do it, from the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse game to the second.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Transferable Data
Only certain things can be transferred from the first game to the second, and transferring your first Time Patroller as a playable character into Xenoverse 2 is not possible. Carrying over your Dragon Ball Xenoverse data to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will allow you to acquire certain costume and skills based on your gameplay data from the first game. You will also receive rewards such as zeni and TP Medals, the latter being the new in-game currency for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, so you'll have money to spend when you begin the second game.
The costume parts and skills of your Time Patroller from Dragon Ball Xenoverse are transferable to Xenoverse 2, all of which include Upper Body, Lower Body, Hands, Feet, four Special Attacks, two Ultimate Attacks, and one Evasive Skill. The most OP of which are Broly, Vegito's, and Beerus.' Costumes you can't transfer will be exchanged into zeni, so it's advised to think about what costumes you want for your new character in Xenoverse 2.
If you have multiple characters from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, only one Time Patroller and the equipment they're wearing will be transferred to Xenoverse 2. Skills that cannot be carried over include, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Vegeta, Super Vegeta 2, Kaioken, X3 Kaioken, X20 Kaioken, and Potential Awoken. Other skills include Riot Javelin, Rebellion Spear, Tyrant Lancer, Prelude to Destruction, Strike of Revelation, and Symphonic Destruction - all of which will be exchanged for zeni or TP Medals instead.
How To Transfer Xenoverse Data To Xenoverse 2
After determining the Time Patroller and its equipment you want to transfer, firstly, you need to update Dragon Ball Xenoverse to the latest version. Once the update is done, start Xenoverse 1 and a new option will pop up on the main menu called "upload save data." Click it and wait for your saved data to be uploaded. You don't have to do this if you played the first game in PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. If you played from PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 however, then these steps are necessary.
Open Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 once you're done with the previous steps. Create new save data and go through all the prompts. Transferring PS3 data to PS4, or Xbox 360 data to Xbox one will require you to select "No" at the prompt "Do you want to carry over save data from the previous game that is stored on your PlayStation 4 (Xbox One) System?" Say yes to download save data uploaded from the previous game and go through the remaining prompts. If you happen to create the wrong save data by clicking the wrong option, just delete your Xenoverse 2 save.
