Microsoft Speeds Up Development Of 'Xbox Scorpio' To Beat Sony PlayStation 4 Pro And Nintendo Switch

Now that both Sony and Nintendo have already revealed their aces for consoles, the only major player to not make any official statement regarding its upcoming console is Microsoft. It's not a mystery that we are not completely blind about Microsoft's Project Scorpio, but some more information on the rumored 4K console would certainly be a welcoming sign for any Xbox fan.

Project Scorpio is making significant strides

As per Microsoft's own statements, Project Scorpio is developing significantly faster than expected. That is in accordance to Phil Spencer, Chief of the Xbox department at Microsoft, who also assured that the progress of the console is 'amazingly smooth.' He said this as a reply to a recent Twitter question that asks about the possible early release of Xbox Scorpio. Spencer has also said that Microsoft is 'feeling pretty confident' about the schedule. Judging by his statements, he may either be giving some hints at an early release or say that to suggest that Scorpio is on full pace for its official fall 2017 release date.

Project Scorpio is looking good

In a recent interview, Spencer did open up about Project Scorpio's progress. He said that the development of the console is currently ahead of schedule. This would surely pump up any Xbox fans after feeling left behind after Microsoft's biggest competitors having officially introduced their new consoles.

Microsoft knows its competitors are hot as of the moment

Speaking of these competitors, Sony is actually first in line to potentially launch their next-gen console lineup. We are only a few days away from the official release of the PS4 Pro. Afterward, Nintendo will follow suit in a few months later. With the reveal of 'Switch,' the Japanese tech company has once again made themselves unique with a non-conventional home console.

The Scorpio will come our sooner or later

With all the hype that the two companies are receiving, rumors have also surfaced that Microsoft is speeding up the development of the Xbox Scorpio to be able to get on the board and potentially beat its rivals when they introduce their most powerful console. With that, we'll have to wait and see, as the Xbox Scorpio, as is set either to arrive in fall 2017 or a bit earlier than expected.
