After the successful Halloween event made by Niantic for Pokemon Go, it seems like fans are hyped to experience more events in the future. Currently, players are eyeing on a potential follow up event this coming December. Christmas is the most awaited season of the year since it brings the spirit of giving. Not a single game title failed to give their players a Christmas event prior to the season's arrival. In which players of Pokemon Go are expecting that Niantic would consider having their own event for Winter.
According to the report from Otakukart, there are several things that are expected to be added if the speculated Christmas event will happen. Some possible conditions that have been included on the wishlist is the increase spawn of ice type Pokemon. Similar to the Halloween event with the ghost type Pokemon, ice types perfectly represent Winter. By this, players could see a common spawn of Shellder, Cloyster, Seel, Dewgong and especially Lapras. It would be enticing for the fans to go out and catch these ice Pokemon for a short time.
Another item listed on the wishlist is to bring back the double candy bonus. It is currently applied on the Halloween event which is one of the primary reasons why a huge number of Pokemon Go fans are returning. It is very simple to implement and Niantic should realize how effective this mechanic at bringing active users up.
Seasonal weather effects are also considered to arrive on the speculated Christmas event. This would make the game's visual presentation less boring. In addition, seasonal effects during battles should be included similar to the ones in Halloween events having a buff of ghost, dark and psychic types. It was suggested that the winter event would bring ice type buffs too. This would be an avenue for those lesser used ice types to be used during training.
Lastly, Niantic should consider adding seasonal clothes to the players' avatar. Since winter is a chilly season, the Pokemon Go avatar should have outfits that match the ones in real life such as hats, gloves, big coats and boots. In addition, players might get an early Christmas gift from Niantic this December with the most-awaited tracker which is expected to arrive on the said month.
