Gym battles are exciting in Pokemon Go until you run out of Pokemon. Once your warriors get knocked down, they will not fight for you anymore unless Revive is used. Same goes for injured Pokemon, they will have that amount of HP until healed with Potion. Will it be awesome if Niantic implements Auto Heal and Auto Revive, will that save much time and focus on gym battles instead?
For a while now, I have been trying out gym battles and it is fun. One thing that gets to me though is that you need to go to your Items menu and choose either Potion or Revive to heal or revive respectively. And then when you try to revive or heal a Pokemon in Pokemon Go, it will take around 1.5 to 2 seconds for a successful transaction. Why don't they have automated revives or heals where the system will just take care of it in the background, depending on how many items you have? Would that be convenient?
How will it work?
I can't express it in better terms than to make examples so that the message on the idea can be relayed. Say you have 6 Pokemon engaging and then they all got beaten the heck out of during a gym battle. You will now need to go to the Item menu and then start the revive and healing process which takes a lot of steps to do. First you need to get to your Revive inventory, then tap on those passed out Pokemon. Then exit, then go to one of your available potions, then start the healing by tapping on them individually. Just by reading that, it took you a lot of time.
Try doing it in the game, and you'll realize it takes some minutes to nurse a screen-full of passed out Pokemon back into health. Now the steps may only require a few seconds but if you add them up, it can save minutes, and that's a lot of time. So, in the next paragraph, I'd like to propose something that would automate revive and heal.
Here comes nurse Joy
First off, the requirement is simple, just have enough Revives and Potions, and the system will do a pre-calculation on what is to be deducted from your inventory to fully recover your downed Pokemon, if you choose to do an auto revive or auto heal. This is where nurse Joy comes in, we already have the professor and the team leaders in the game, why not invite her right?
Nurse Joy would have a special icon on the screen, either on the Pokemon inventory or Item, whichever works, heck it can be put in the main menu. When activated, she will then say 'Hi, Player_Name, you have 4 Pokemon that needs reviving and 200HP that needs healing. It will cost you 4 Revives and 10 Potions. Your inventory says that you can afford to do this, should we commence with the healing?' If you choose yes, then a progress bar will pop up, because I understand that each healing or revive transaction requires communication back and forth from client to server. After the progress bar finishes, you're all set for another battle, pretty nifty, huh?
Opportunity for micro transactions
Not only will Nurse Joy aid the Pokemon trainer, she can also help out in boosting up Niantic's revenue. Imagine a line from her saying, "Sorry, you do not have enough Revives and Potions to automatically nurse all your Pokemon back to health, do you want to buy required items from the shop?" Now, that would be interesting.
