Pokemon GO Halloween Tips: How To Maximize Candy Drops, Buddy System To Evolve Rare Pokemon

The Pokemon GO Halloween Event is nearing to close. Players still have time though to evolve their rare Pokemon using the event's bonus feature.

Buddy Candy Drops Temporarily Increased By Four Times

The Halloween event is the best time to walk your Pokemon Buddy. Normally, a Lapras or Snorlax Buddy will need 5 kilometers in order to find a single candy. This Halloween however, that distance has been reduced to 1.25 kilometers.

Starter Pokemon candies are also valuable. The 3 kilometer candy requirement for the Starter Pokemon has been reduced to .75 kilometers. Now is the time to use Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle or any of their evolved form as walking Buddy.

Pokemon such as the Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Magikarp, Pidgey, Pikachu or their evolved form also make excellent Buddy since a one kilometer walk with any of them will result in a candy. The Halloween event however, has temporarily increased the total haul of candies to four for every kilometer walked.

Choosing Prospective Generation II Pokemon

Niantic has confirmed that the 2nd generation of Pokemon is coming to the game. Now is the time to collect candies for them. If you have a Pokemon such as the Porygon, maybe it's the right time to make it as a walking Buddy and collect those candies, according to gamepress.

Collecting And Evolving Pokemon Just Got Easier

Now is also the time to complete the Pokedex of missing Pokemon. The Pokemon GO developer has been generous with the drops and spawning frequency. There are still a lot desirable Pokemon to collect right now despite the absence an in-game tracker.

Players are advised though that the distance walked and time may show some discrepancy due to the tracking glitch. There are also unconfirmed reports that Trainers and their buddy are only allowed to walk for 42 kilometers per day. Choosing a Buddy will need some strategizing since walking one Pokemon means you can't use the others.
