As it always does, "Suits" ended on a mid-season summer finale, and will be back for a winter premiere. The recent finale features the exit of one of the lead stars Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres); how may this affect the future of the series?
Jessica Pearson Leaves The Firm; Marks Exit Of Actress Gina Torres On "Suits" Season 6
As a recap for the recent mid-season finale for "Suits" season six, it featured the exit of one of the most beloved characters on the show - Jessica Pearson. She left the firm to follow her heart all the way to Chicago and be with Jeff Malone. The role is portrayed by actress Gina Torres who requested her character be written off the show, since she has other commitments that need to be attended to in Los Angeles, which could not work with filming for the series since its production is in Toronto, Canada.
Jessica leaving the firm has been one of the biggest changes that the series has gone through ever since it began about six years ago. Harvey sorts out some of issues with Louis as they take on the board. Despite their differences, the two needed to make things work between them, especially now that Jessica is no longer with them. The most awaited release of Mike from jail has also finally happened during the mid-season finale of "Suits" season six, and was offered a job by Harvey.
Is "Suits" Season 7 Ever Going To Happen Without Solid Plotline Just Yet?

Series creator Aaron Korsh admitted that they haven't planned out the events of the upcoming season just yet and there are now focusing on the current plot. With reports claiming that more actors will be joining the exit of Gina Torres once season six of "Suits" comes to an end, it is highly likely that the next season is still on the rocks.
"Suits" season six will be back for its winter premiere on January 2017.
