Retail giant Wal-Mart has announced that it will start selling unlocked iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 smartphones through Straight Talk wireless service this week. Shoppers can purchase the Apple smartphones online at Walmart.com or in its more than 2000 stores across the U.S. and get unlimited talk, text and data plan with no contract at $45 per month.
According to the plan, iPhone 5 is on offer in black and white for $649 for the 16GB model only while the 8GB model iPhone 4 can be availed in black and white for $449. If you have a Wal-Mart credit card or if you are willing to sign up for one, you can avail a $20 monthly discount as well. However, the Straight Talk plan did not mention how long the customers can enjoy the discounted plan rates with the credit card.
"Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract for $70 a month thanks to our exclusive Straight Talk plan and industry first financing offer," said Seong Ohm, senior vice president of entertainment for Wal-Mart U.S.
According to the $45 Straight Talk iPhone plan, users will receive unlimited nationwide talk, text and data while the $60 plan will additionally offer unlimited international calling to more than 1,000 destinations in Canada, Mexico, India, and other countries.
Apple sells its 16GB unlocked iPhone 5 for $649 currently through its websites, the 32GB version is sold at $749 and 64GB at $849. iPhone 5 made its debut in late November.
