Fans of J.K. Rowling's magical world will be in for a treat. Google added a new feature which users can use to cast spells.
Google announced the fun new changes to the app last Tuesday on the company's blog.
Three popular spells casted by Harry Potter and the rest of the gang are now available in Android, as reported by Forbes. Lumos, Nox and Silencio are now part of digital magic, so to speak.
Simply start off by saying "Ok Google" followed by the spell and the app will start 'casting' the spell. An "Ok Google, Lumos" will turn on the smartphone's flashlight while "Ok Google, Nox" will turn it off. When the user says "ok Google, Silencio", the phone's volume particularly the ringer and notifications will be turned off.
Google Street View will also allow Potter fans to 'visit' the setting of the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The four sites viewable through the app include Tina and Queenie Goldstein's residence at W 26th Street, the Steen National Bank at W 14th Street where Newt meets Jacob Kowalski, the wizarding headquarters called Magical Congress of the United States of America or MACUSA, and The Blind Pig, a bar at MacDougal Street.
The sites are set in the fictional world of the movie which, in turn, is set in 1926 New York. The four places are included in the video game with the same name.
Reports say the moves made by Google are in conjunction with Warner Bros. Pictures to promote the latest film inspired by J.K Rowling's writing. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tells the story of magizoologist Newt Scamander played by Eddie Redmayne. The film also stars Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Ron Perlman and Jon Voight. David Yeats directed the movie which will be shown on November 17.
