2017 Honda Civic Tourer: 3 Reasons This Overlooked Car Is Better Than Its Hatchback Sibling

Honda has been redefining its Civic line up every time a new model is released. Now on its 10th generation, they have been fascinating both regular road users and enthusiasts with its constantly changing designs. All generations have been a favorite by modders and tuners alike as different parts and body kits are easy to come by. Tuning or swapping engines in a Honda is also a favorite among tuners and mechanics.

Honda recently announced that the new 2017 Honda Hatchback would be on sale in 2017 on the European market. The Honda Hatchback would come in variants of a 1.0-liter turbo and a more powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Some are excited with the Type R variant that packs a 2.0-liter engine, while a few others are anticipating the arrival of the 2017 Honda Civic Tourer, which could possibly be better than the upcoming hot hatch.

DTEC

The Honda Civic Tourer, will give buyers the option to choose from different engines; a 1.0liter four cylinder, a 1.5liter four-cylinder turbo VTEC, and a possible favorite, a 1.6-liter DTEC engine which is designed to run on diesel. The regular hatchback only comes with a 1.0 and a 1.5-liter engine.

With soaring petrol prices, the DTEC diesel engine could be a better choice for consumers who are looking into saving money and better economy. This could save a lot of petrol heads money to use on future modifications without compromising power. Drivers would still feel a sort of VTEC kicking in sensation while driving a diesel.

More Aggressive Look

The new 2017 Tourer will also be redesigned with a wider, longer body and decreased ground clearance, giving it a more aggressive look. Rendered images on the Internet also show a meaner look for this new Civic.

AWD system

Rumors also suggest that the Tourer may be available in an All Wheel Drive variant, which makes it more competitive than the other Civics Hatchbacks and could really prove to be a rival to the Ford Focus RS. VTEC, Turbo, AWD, and a sporty design are all on the wish lists of the majority of car enthusiasts.

Honda has been successful with the changes implemented throughout the years, and with each new model, newer technology and innovations are also fitted. Design and performance have been greatly improving with each new lineup and has proven their roadworthiness.

More powertrain options, sportier look, and an All Wheel Drive variant, these features could change the game once the new 2017 Honda Civic Tourer comes out and hit the streets or race track.
