Preview Of Samsung's Gear S3 Stylish Smartwatch

Samsung unveiled its next-generation Gear S3 smartwatch back in August. Now, we approach the date when both versions, the Bluetooth-only and the Gear S3 LTE-connected, will be hitting U.S. shelves on Nov. 18, just in time for the holiday season.

According to CNET, preorders for both versions of Samsung's Gear S3 will start on Sunday, Nov. 6. In a press release, Samsung has announced that its smartwatches will be available at Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, Macy's as well as at various "participating wireless providers."

Samsung's Gear S3 has a larger battery and it is larger than the previous Gear S3 smartwatch. The gadget comes with optional cellular connectivity and built-in GPS. The Gear S3 smartwatches also support Samsung Pay and Spotify. For terminals that aren't contactless-enabled, the new Samsung smart wearable gadgets can use MST technology in order to work with these older credit card machines.

The new watch features Samsung's own Tizen-based OS and apps, same as the older Gear S2. However, the new Gear S3 also works with other Android phones. Both new Samsung smartwatch models, a dressy Gear S3 Classic and a rugged-sport style Gear S3 Frontier, will be shipping at the same time.

The price for a basic configuration is starting at $349.99. However, at this moment, prices for specific configurations are not yet known.
