Music sensation Gorillaz is most likely to release their new album this year when band member Noodle was spotted on a certain website dropping possible hints to the virtual group’s apparent comeback.
Fans are on their toes right now as news claiming that Gorillaz is preparing for a return at the music scene. On Nov. 2, one of the band’s animated member, Noodle was caught setting up a page on OkCupid. OkCupid, sometimes abbreviated as OKC, is an online dating, friendship, and social networking site used to be one of top dating sites as listed in Time back in 2007.
The account was named "watashiwanoodle", which is Japanese for “I am Noodle.” and was linked to Noodle’s Instagram account. Noodle’s dating page had entries describing her as “queer, woman, single” who “speaks English and Japanese” and was interested and looking for “people, located anywhere, aged 18-99, for new friends.” But there was one other interesting detail though that caught the attention of many.
Apparently, under her self-summary in the said OkCupid page, she wrote down “Ready? 12:11 xx DA”. This has gotten many to speculate it was actually a hint regarding Gorillaz’s new album and that the page was just a stunt to get the word out in the queerest possible way. Fans of Gorillaz are suggesting that the hint refers to a date, probably December 11 and that the closing signed with “xx DA” might just mean kisses from Damon Albarn, who is one of the creators of the band. Further details could not be obtained as the said OkCupid account by Noodle has been reportedly deleted.
Gorillaz members, Albarn and Jamie Hewlett has been active on social networking sites for the past few months, sharing stories and giving interviews to connect with fans. However, Gorillaz has still yet to make an official announcement about a song or an album release. Fans of the four-member animated group has been awaiting their return after releasing their last album, “The Fall” in 2011.
