Dell is expected to launch its Dell Smart desk early next year. While Microsoft may have unveiled the Surface Studio first, it doesn't mean that Dell's Smart Desk is a copycat. In fact, the company claims that they have been working on the said computing device for three years.
Dell Smart Desk, A Surface Studio Lookalike
"Dell Smart Desk" is still a working title for the company's innovative PC but its launch is pretty much confirmed. Dell took to Twitter to share that the Smart Desk will have its formal announcement at the 2017 CES. As for what the Smart Desk looks like, it is actually similar to the Surface Studio. It is just a tad more complicated than Microsoft's latest device, PC World reported.
As per the source, Dell's upcoming computer is pretty much a combo of a tablet and a monitor. Needless to say, the Smart Desk's Surface Dial-like tool also sparks some issue that Dell's product may as well be a copy of the Surface Studio. Nevertheless, the company says that their Dial-like tool has been in development since two years ago.
Dell Smart Desk Release
The Dell Smart Desk (or whatever its official name will be), will be launched CES 2017. Tech Radar says that CES will start January 5 but pre-shows are also to be expected. So technically, CES 2017 can start as early as January 3.
With the Dell Smart Desk coming in in just a few months' time, it is clearly still a valid Surface Studio competition. Needless to say, Dell's computing device shouldn't be the only Surface Studio competition. Now that the creative professionals are already being targeted by OEMs, it won't be a surprise if more of these computers will be launched next year. These may be costly investments but they are definitely and arguably the most perfect computers for the creative pros.
