The 2017 Honda Pilot is set and ready to roll out. In this model however, consumers can certainly expect a little bit more as the Japanese carmaker announced that the vehicle will now support Apple's CarPlay and Android Auto.
What To Expect In Honda Pilot 2017
According to Car And Driver, what the 2017 Honda Pilot lacks in aesthetic and drive-experience changes, it compensates with its revamped infotainment system that now offers compatibility to both Android Auto and CarPlay from Apple. The same report also stated that in line with the platforms' compatibility, models of the 2017 Honda Pilot, except for the LX, will have a built-in 8.0-inch center stack screen that is also said to have a new coating designed to minimize fingerprints. The base model LX will make use of a smaller, but still very capable five-inch screens.
More About Apple's CarPlay And Android Auto
Using the CarPlay or Android Auto is easy. Drivers simply have to plug their iPhone or Android Phone into the USB port of the dashboard and activate it before they start driving. The CarPlay and Android Auto will then allow access to applications like maps, music, messages and others without the need for hand or eye contact. This is because most of the interactions with this feature such as making a call, replying to text messages and others are done through voice control that is activated just by pressing a control button on the steering wheel. MacRumors reported that CarPlay is now available in over 100 vehicles models from different automakers all over the world.
2017 Honda Pilot Pricing And Availabiity
The Honda Pilot 2017 will be hitting the market on Nov. 7, 2016. As for the price range, the new feature will have buyers to expect an increase of $200 to $300 over the previous iteration's price. Given the fact that this feature does not require any hand or eye contact from the driver, it is safe to assume that the new feature is useful. Accidents can happen in a fraction of a second and this will substantially help reduce the possibilities of drivers getting into collisions and other kinds of vehicular accidents.
