The iPhone 8 has been the talk of the tech world since the release of the iPhone 7. With mostly everyone having no idea what the rumored iPhone 8 will look like, tech enthusiasts are always on the lookout for any information about the said device. Finally, new information has come to light.
It is believed by fans and critics that Apple did not really push its tech prowess with the iPhone 7, because it was gearing up its resources for the 10th anniversary of the iPhone which made many fans disappointed at the slow upgrade of the iPhones. According to a written article at Indian Express, Apple hints that the mysterious iPhone 8 will be a foldable and bendable iPhone. You must be thinking of those old sturdy flip phones right now.
According to the article, Apple could soon introduce an iPhone with a flexible screen. In the report, it states that the iPhone will have "polymer materials in the flexible structure that may be molded to form bends." The article then further states that.
"An electronic device has structures such as substrates and internal housing structures. The substrates may be rigid substrates such as rigid printed circuit boards and flexible substrates such as flexible printed circuits, flexible touch sensor substrates, and flexible display substrates. Carbon nanotubes may be patterned to form carbon nanotube signal paths on the substrates."
"The signal paths may resist cracking when bent. A flexible structure such as a flexible printed circuit may have carbon nanotube signal paths interposed between polymer layers. Openings in a polymer layer may expose metal solder pads on the carbon nanotube signal paths. A stiffener may be provided under the metal solder pads. Polymer materials in the flexible structure may be molded to form bends. Bends may be formed along edges of a touch sensor or display or may be formed in a flexible printed circuit."
About whether this information is true or not, there is no confirmation from Apple. All we can do is wait for the next leak or announcement from Apple to piece out the puzzle.
