More American men are going for nose jobs, liposuction, Botox injections and facelifts. Between 2009 and 2010, there is a 2 percent increase in the number of American men going for plastic surgery. The tiny difference means 1.1 million more men decided to go under the knife.
The report also says that, in 2010, ear surgeries increased by 11 percent, facelifts by 14 percent and liposuction by 7 percent. Dermabrasion and eyelid surgery got increased by 4 percent each. Breast reduction increased by 6 percent, while Botox injections increased by 9 percent.
There are a number of popular procedures among men. But, it depends on the age. For example, there is an increase of breast reduction by 6 percent. It is most popular among men who are younger than 30.

According to Dr. Phillip Haeck from the society, there is more awareness among men about plastic surgery and how it can enhance their looks. He calls it a "dirty little secret" for men. Many men told Haeck that they would need to look younger to get a new job.
Ask Dr. Manny reports that other popular procedures include microdermabrasion, chemical peels and nose reshaping. These procedures were performed less often in 2010. Nose reshaping declined by 4 percent, microdermabrasion by 10 percent and chemical peels by 3 percent. However, these are still quite popular.
