Pokemon GO Biome Update: Where & How To Look For Lapras Biome

Pokemon GO players are well aware of the Lapras' reputation as a top battle gym attacker and defender. Finding its biome is a Trainer's dream come true.

What Is A Biome And Where To Look For Lapras Spawns

A biome is basically a spawn area where certain Pokemon such as the Lapras can be encountered and captured. In the case of the Lapras, players need to search for an Electric biome that is close to the sea. Since Lapras are rare, it shares the biome with several Pokemon that includes the Magnemite, Shellder and Voltorb. The Lapras are reportedly located in biomes that are also near landmarks such as the coast lines, ship docks and terminals, as well as harbors and marinas.

Testing the Lapras Biome Theory

Pokemon GO players near coast lines and harbors around the world have tested the theory and found at that its true. Trainers from Long Beach, Santo Monica and Southern Connecticut from the United States are among those who validated this Lapras biome theory. Lapras are rare in the wild but players can have a chance of collecting them through 10KM Eggs. But just like in the wild, getting one from an Egg is a rare occurrence too.

What is Lapras?

Lapras are basically Water and Ice Pokemon and currently has no evolution, according to Pokemngodb. It is said that people have hunted so many of them that they are now nearing extinction. At night, these Pokemon sing in the hopes of meeting some of its own kind. They are also quite intelligent and have the ability to understand human speech, according to Bulbapedia.

In Pokemon GO, its fast move sets are Ice Shard and Frost Breath while its charge move sets are Blizzard, Dragon Pulse and Ice Beam. The Lapras ideal fast- charge combo moveset however, is the Frost Breath and Blizzard.
