Hyundai has already proven itself capable of swimming with the big fishes in the auto industry. The Korean automaker is known to be one of the powerhouse players in the compact car market. Now Hyundai is ready to step up its game by introducing four more SUVs in India for the next two years.
Four More To Look Forward To
The Indian market is already looking forward to the all-new Tucson from Hyundai which will be launched on Nov. 14, 2016. Apparently, this isn't all the Indian market has to look forward to. According to a report from The Economic Times, Hyundai is also working on developing another compact SUV that will be launched in 2018 and will be positioned below the Hyundai Creta. In the same report, senior vice-president for sales and marketing of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), Rakesh Srivastava, stated that Tucson will bridge the gap between the Creta and Santa Fe SUV. He also added that the company also plans to bring in one new model each year in a segment where its presence has not yet been established.
Hyundai Is Set To Achieve A Milestone In The Indian Market
In a report given by DriveSpark, it has only been two decades since Hyundai entered the Indian market and a milestone of seven million units of cumulative sales is expected to be achieved this month. This is apparently considered to be the fastest milestone to be achieved by any automaker in the Indian market. "We have attained this milestone in 18 years and two months, fastest by any manufacturer in India," said Srivastava.
Hybrid Models?
Drive Spark also reported that in addition to new models, updates on the existing ones will also be made. There will also be hybrid cars that are expected to be introduced to the market in the next two years.
Will It Be The Same For US?
With high demands for SUVs in the U.S. market, it is more than likely that the new models that are going to be launched over the next two years will also be seen in America. In fact, some of the specs of the upcoming 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, one of those that will be launched in India, along with Tucson and Creta have already been given by The Washington Times.
