The OnePlus 3T has been the subject of a number of rumors for quite some time now and it looks like the new phone will finally be revealed in a few days.
The Chinese company has yet to release a follow-up to the OnePlus X which came out in 2015 between the releases of the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3. Rumor has it that the company is not planning on releasing a new OnePlus X or even the OnePlus 4 but a supercharged 3 instead.
The rumor started when a OnePlus device with the model number A3010 passed through the China Compulsory Certification, similar to the United States' FCC. The rumor was further fuelled after a designer working for OnePlus posted on Weibo that a new device was indeed in the works. The post also mentioned the name of the device 3T. According to reports, the post suggested that the T stands for 'Turbo'.
OnePlus will hold an event in London on Monday, Nov. 14, and the buzz is that the company will finally make things official with the 3T.
Processor
Its predecessor, the OnePlus 3, was one of the fastest phones when it was launched early in 2016. Since then, the OnePlus 3 has been overtaken by new and faster smartphones including the iPhone 7. The OnePlus 3T is supposed to put the company back on top thanks to the Snapdragon 821 processor.
This was somewhat confirmed by a Tweet from Qualcomm which read, "Something new from @OnePlus is on the way... and it's powered by our #Snapdragon 821 processor. Stay tuned."
Display
According to rumors, the 3T's display will not veer far from its predecessor. It will still have the OLED screen with a 1080p resolution which is quite below the standards for high-end phones. But the QHD display somewhat makes up for it.
Memory
The OnePlus 3T will have two variants in terms of memory space - the 64GB and 128GB internal storage.
Camera
The 3T's supposed 16MP rear camera will have the Sony IMX 398 camera sensor. It will also have a dual-core autofocus system and possibly a dual-camera setup, as well.
Battery
It looks like the new device's battery will be 3,300mAh which is at least 10 percent better than the OnePlus 3.
Release date and price
Even if the rumored Nov. 14 announcement will push through, it is still not know when the OnePlus 3T will be released. The general consensus, however, is that the device will come out in time for the holidays.
The 3T is rumored to be worth $80 more than the OnePlus 3 which will be around $480.
