There have been many controversies surrounding "Fifty Shades of Grey" lead star Jamie Dornan saying that he is going to be replaced by actor Ian Somerhalder in the upcoming movie installments, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades of Freed." However, it has been confirmed that it is just not the case.
Speculations Of Jamie Dornan To Be Replaced By Ian Somerhalder As Christian Grey Continue To Resurface
Actor Jamie Dornan being compared to Ian Somerhalder for his role as Christian Grey in the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey" is quite understandable, since there are many reasons why the latter could also be fit for the role. However, during the contract signing for the first movie installment of the movie series, the lead stars namely Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have already signed an agreement to reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel respectively. Thus, despite the reports that the actor is having complaints about his role and sex scenes, he will pretty much stay as Christian Grey.
Jamie Dornan Debunked Replacement Rumors Himself During Appearance On "Jimmy Kimmel Live"
The actor has also addressed the issue during an appearance in the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show. Dornan said that they have already shot both of the upcoming films to be aired on 2017 and 2018 respectively and it would be expensive to do the whole thing all over again with another actor. Thus, he has definitely debunked all the speculations of him being replaced for the role.
Dornan Currently Filming For Another Upcoming Movie Next Year Entitled "Untogether"
In other news, the "Fifty Shades Darker" actor Jamie Dornan is currently filming for another movie coming up, to be entitled "Untogether." He was recently spotted filming some scenes alongside co-star Alice Eve last Monday in Los Angeles. It was a few of the first scenes they have shot for the upcoming film whose airdate hasn't been revealed yet but will air sometime next year.
Nonetheless, "Untogether" is a film about the life of a teenage girl who could have high chances for a great future but becomes addicted to heroin instead. Upon recovery of the substance abuse, she then tries to get her life back together and tries to become a writer. Dornan will be playing the role of Nick, whose character is about to be revealed yet once the official trailer is going to be released. For now, he is expected to be back on the big screen on February 2017 for the premiere of "Fifty Shades Darker."
