Microsoft Surface Pro 5: Release, Specs, Features, Pricing And Why The Wait Will Be Worth It

The first of the holiday sales are coming this November 25 in the form of Black Friday. Like always, there will be plenty of deals to choose from various retail stores that range from food to appliances, to gadgets. But if there is anything that might stop individuals from getting on the Black Friday wagon, it might be the promise of a better alternative that will come to the market soon.

One particular promise is the Surface Pro 5, which Microsoft left out on its event last November. According to iDigialTimes, it is likely that the device will arrive soon, so it might be best to turn a blind eye to the deals surrounding the Surface Pro 4. The current 2-in-1 device has been a powerful player in the market, but its successor will undoubtedly outshine it.

The publication goes on to claim that the Surface Pro 5 will be announced sometime in early 2017. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it would delay its Windows 10 Creators Update release to sometime in the coming year in order to go hand in hand with the debut of "new surface devices." And with the Surface Book i7 and the Surface Studio set for release before 2016 ends, a new Surface Pro is more than likely to be in the books.

The Surface Pro line of devices is arguably Microsoft's most successful release in the Surface line. And while the fourth generation has been on the market for quite a while now, it is definitely still holding out against its newer competitors. So when the tech giant left out an announcement for the Surface Pro 5 in October, the public did not feel cheated.

It made profitable sense for Microsoft to hold out on the release of the Surface Pro 5. Besides, it also gave way for the public to fully grasp the concept of the Surface Studio, which in itself offers a new take on the standard desktop. Nevertheless, new Surface Pro is still on the minds of many - those who have tried and tested the Surface product line and those that want to experiment with it.

The current Surface Pro 4 also has its notable setbacks, which Microsoft will undoubtedly address. Some of these things include a better battery life and a newer and more powerful processor. This is exactly what the company did with the updated Surface Book i7, so the Surface Pro 5 is sure to at least come with these upgrades.

But, as Tech Times notes, the Surface Pro 5 is sure to come with new features as well, which will distinguish it from its predecessors. Granted, Microsoft has not confirmed anything about the speculated unit, but they are not beyond the company's reach. As mentioned earlier, better battery life is expected, as well as an AMD or Nvidia PAscal GPU.

It is also possible that Microsoft will present a bigger display option, as well as 2K resolution and 4K Ultra HD variants with the Surface Pro 5. Furthermore, the device is likely to come with USB Type-C ports, which have quickly become standard in the market. The device is also estimated to arrive with 16GB of RAM and an updated Surface Pen.

What are few more weeks and a few extra dollars to get something more worthwhile?
