Mass Effect: Andromeda Release Date, Update: Recent Evidence Points To A March 2017 Launch

Mass Effect: Andromeda is dropping on March 21, a recent evidence shows. A promotional photo from Amazon has been leaked, showing a specific release date. This, on top of other rumors, just strengthens the rumor that the newest title from BioWare is launching on that date.

Mass Effect: Andromeda March 21, 2017 Launch Date Is A Go?

While the Amazon leak looks legit, there is one thing that throws it off. The date in the promotional image is March 21, 2016, which has long passed. However, it somewhat corroborates the previous promise of the video game being simultaneously released with "The Art of Mass Effect Andromeda" book by Dark Horse, IGN reported.

According to the book's listing, it will be launched on March 21, 2017. It falls on a Tuesday, which is when video games are usually released. Thus, it gives more credence to the rumored date.

EA: No Mass Effect: Andromeda Release Date Yet

With all these rumors, EA still says that "a specific launch date for Mass Effect: Andromeda" has not yet been announced. What is known for now is that it is planned for a release in the first quarter of 2017. The video game retailer Geekay lists the game with a March 2017 launch, so it is expected that the latest installment will be released around that time if not the 21st.

Mass Effect: Andromeda PS4 Pro Framerate 'To Be Decided'

In other news, the Mass Effect title is coming to PS4 Pro, but the framerate has yet to be decided. Creative director Mac Walters confirmed that it will run at 30 frames per second (FPS) on unannounced devices. More powerful platforms will be able to churn out a higher framerate, but the PS4 Pro's performance is yet "to be decided."

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017.
