Music producer and rapper Swizz Beatz has purchased a co-ownership in the consumer electronics company Monster Cable, joining as member of the executive board. Monster founder and CEO Noel Lee, who created the Beats by Dr. Dre® headphone sound wants to take the company to the next level and sought Swizz's creative genius.
"The products that we have planned are revolutionary in technology, sound, and style. We need the talents and reach of Swizz to help bring these products to life in the eyes of the consumer," said Lee in a press release Wednesday.
This announcement comes after Swizz's passion for music inspired him to hold a special benefit concert in January at New York City's Hard Rock Cafe to benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The money raised from the concert, Swizz Beatz and Friends assisted in providing instruments to schools affected by Hurricane Sandy with the creation of the Tri-State Sandy Music Relief Fund.
"New York City and the Tri-State area is my home and it's a place that constantly inspires music and creativity for myself and millions of others," said Swizz about the benefit concert. "I'm going to bring out some friends and put on a crazy show to support the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the creation of the Tri-State Sandy Music Relief Fund so this creativity can thrive again for kids all over the East Coast," he said.
Swizz, with 14 years of creating music is a cultural icon. He is a well-known music producer, DJ, recording artist, fashion designer and his passion and expertise will help Monster to continue its innovation goal. For the continuously changing music and entertainment world, Monster intends to focus on developing and marketing entertainment products. Swizz will help to expand the Monster brand globally and will play an important role in Monster's strategic planning.
