‘Narcos’ Season 3 News And Updates: Netflix Air Date Announced; Star Of 'Pretty Little Liars' Joins As DEA Agent

"Narcos" season 3 is now in production and the show has recently acquired a new cast member, Nicholas Gonzales, a star of the hit TV series "Pretty Little Liars." Gonzales will play the role of DEA agent Lopez, who is of a Mexican-American origin. His role will be that of an experienced and capable government agent. He will be a mainstay of the new season.

Gonzales Is Not A Novice

Nicholas Gonzales is not a novice actor. Aside from his role as Det. Vic Furey in "Pretty Little Liars," he has also appeared in "The Flash" as Cisco's elder brother. He is now a mainstay in CW's latest series "Frequency" and has also appeared in "Jane the Virgin," "Bones," and "Bordertown."

Another new regular cast member in "Narcos" season 3 is Kerry Bishe. She plays an American woman, Christina, who has a Colombian husband who is involved in the drug cartel. A problem develops which forces her to escape and seek the help of the U.S. embassy.

Season 3 Will Focus On A New Drug Cartel

The first two seasons of "Narcos" focused on the drug cartel of Pablo Escobar. "Narcos" season 3 will turn its eyes on another drug cartel. The future episodes will pick up from where the finale of season 2 left off. Upon the death of Escobar, the next episode will focus on the Cali Cartel. Pedro Pascal, one of the original cast members in the first two seasons, will reprise his role in the new series. It is still uncertain if Boyd Holbrook will also come back as Murphy, Pena's partner.

Netflix Renewed "Narcos" For Another Two Seasons

It appears that "Narcos" season 3 will be followed by season 4. Netflix has renewed the show for two more seasons. There will be a change in its storyline, in line with its new cast members. Season 3 will premiere on 2017, and season 4 a year after that.
