Apple has already released the new MacBook Pro editions. While most MacBook fans are happy to finally get an upgrade, many multi-OS users aren't exactly impressed by Apple's new laptops. It's undeniable that competition between laptop devices is currently very intense as the market is filled with powerful laptops with reasonable prices. The MacBook Pro 2016 does have a powerful processor but its price and other features may not exactly be very impressive. Compared to HP's Spectre x360, Apple's 2016 laptops may not be as good as a deal.
MacBook Pro 2016
Apple's newest edition of MacBook Pro has a starting price of $1499. The newly launched Pro may boast about the new Touch Bar but do take note that the most affordable unit at $1499 doesn't have this feature. This model is 13 inch in size and is powered by a Core i5 Intel CPU. If you want a 13 inch MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar, you'll need to shell out $1799 and if you want a 15-inch laptop with the Touch Bar, you'll need to pay $2399. The 15 inch MacBook Pro is powered by a Core i7 processor.
The three MacBook Pro 2016 laptops also differ in their number of USB C ports. The least expensive model has two of these ports, the 13 inch Touch Bar laptop has three of these ports and the most expensive model has 4 of these. Needless to say, the above-mentioned prices are just the starting costs of the MacBook Pro 2016. Since buyers can opt for higher configurations for their MacBook Pro purchase, the costs can go higher. Tech Radar says, if you want the best and the ultimate version of the MacBook Pro 2016, you'll need to shell out around $4300.
Nevertheless, these prices do not include accessories that buyers can opt for. With that said, it's obvious that the MacBook Pro 2016 is quite a splurge and a tempting one for some people. Its Touch Bar, Touch ID and powerful processors are happy additions, but whether they are enough to price the laptops this high, it's still a debate for many.
HP Spectre x360
The HP Spectre x360 is a 13.3-inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7 processor. With a price of $1149.99 in the Microsoft Store, you can get HP's latest model and enjoy a very powerful laptop with very powerful specs. The best thing about the HP Spectre x360 is that it isn't only a powerful computer as it is, it is also a powerhouse convertible device. This means that it can be folded to 360 degrees and can be used as a tablet. With that said, the x360's display is of course, touchscreen. This device also USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort and an audio jack.
Being the convertible that the HP Spectre x360 is, it can be transformed into different positions depending on your current need. You can use it in laptop position, tent, stand and of course, in tablet position. It's 360-degree hinge allows the laptop to be used in extreme versatility. It's pretty much a big competition not only for laptops but for convertibles as well.
Overall, depending on your preference, the HP Spectre x360 is a really valid laptop choice for 2016, at least for people who are open to any laptop OS. If you have been with MacOS for the longest time, the MacBook Pro 2016 is also a viable purchase, especially since it took Apple some time before releasing a new MacBook. Nevertheless, if you think Apple's new laptops are too expensive, you can always opt for an uber-powerful and reasonably priced Windows laptop like the HP Spectre x360.
