Just a week away and the most hyped and most pre-ordered Nintendo 3DS game to date will finally be in our hands. As the Pokemon Sun and Moon release date comes closer, more leaks and more tips seemed to be flooding the internet. Well, they might be spoilers but if you come to think about it, these leaked details are in fact pretty useful.
Due to the datamined list of Pokemon coming for Sun and Moon, one genius of a Redditor was able to create an online Pokemon Team Planner that will help players, well, plan the very best team. One of the notable Pokemon Sun and Moon leaks also include the removal of mega evolution in exchange for the new Z-Moves. This was confirmed by Pokemon Director, Junichi Masuda, who was famous for the Masuda method in Pokemon games.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Z-Moves
This new element in Pokemon Sun and Moon is used in Pokemon Battles. Z-Moves involve great power which is why they can only be used once per fight. This move is a result when a trainer and Pokemon's wishes synch while unleashing their full power together. However, this can be done with the right item.
Now, there are two conditions in performing Z-Moves as mentioned in the official website, "there are two conditions for performing Z-Moves: a Pokémon must learn a move of the same type as a Z-Crystal, and it must be holding the corresponding Z-Crystal."
Magikarp Splash Move
Now, here's where Magikarp comes in. We all have heard about how meaningless the Splash move is, right? And we usually associate it with the orange fish Pokemon, Magikarp, who is often seen using "Splash" as its signature move. Basically, all it does is to jump out of the water, which just makes it the favorite target for predators such as Pidgeot. However, this "pointless" move is not that anymore "useless" in Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Z-Splash
Data miners discovered that Pokemon Sun and Moon Z-Moves can work great with the normal moves to create a greater, much powerful move. Thankfully, Splash wasn't left out. As seen in the video above, the Z-Splash move gave the attack a 3x boost in one go. It may say "but nothing happened" after doing the move but we know that it boosted Gyarados with a +attack. So which move is "useless" again?
Pokemon Sun and Moon are coming to the Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 18.
