All good things come to an end. This week we finally witnessed the conclusion of rom-com drama "Shopping King Louie." In episode 16, Butler Kim and Jung Ran finally got married, and the two are already expecting their first child. Meanwhile, Louie (Seo In Gook) and Go Bok Shil (Nam Ji Hyun) discovered how they met during their childhood, while Cha Joong Won (Yoon Sang Hyun) found new love in Bok Shil's look-alike.
The pieces finally come together in "Shopping King Louie" episode 16. Butler Kim realized that Louie saw Bok Shil in a documentary way back "Shopping King Louie" episode 1. Louie was so happy saying that must be the reason why she looked familiar. In the background we heard Bok Shil's voice saying: "Was this really our first encounter?"
President Cha Joong Won went to the office. The female workers were ogling at him - including Ma Ri. However, inside his office, his work was nothing but a mountain of boring paperwork. He told himself over and over that he's not bored (he believes It's just a matter of state of mind) and wondered how Louie and the others are doing. Louie has taken over Joong Won's work as director of the team. I'ts funny how he said all the same lines Joong Won told the team but instead of negative, he turned them to positive reviews.
Joong Won came and asked Bok Shil how "our Singsingline" is doing. Louie got jelous by the mere mention of "our." The employees asked how many stars Louie gave Joong Won and Joong Won answered he did not give him stars. He took out Louie's thank you note with a big heart shape from his wallet and the employees wondered if he is actually gay. Later, Joong Won asked Bok Shil for a date. He told her this will be their last lunch date together (he's finally admitting defeat) and encouraged her to go to college.
Butler Kim was urging Jung Ran to eat but she said she didn't have an appetite. He ushered her to the table and removed the food cover but there was no food -- it's a ring. What a sweet proposal! Elsewhere, Joong Won's parents barged into his house saying they would live there until he gets married. His mother, Young Ae, said she knew he hates living with them so this would be a great tactic to marry him off faster. She offered to make ramyun, boiling it with her favorite plum syrup. Yet her husband stopped her and said from now on the kitchen would be his, he would cook instead, and so they got into a fight.
Young Ae went to Jae Sook's house and Ma Ri was pretending to be ladylike in front of her. Jae Sook suggested they call Geum Ja for a sleepover and they looked like highschool kids, playing monopoly and talking about their love life. The two said Young Ae should make up with his husband saying she is lucky because Jae Sook's husband is in jail while Geum Ja's husband was already dead.
It's Butler Kim and Jung Ran's wedding! They're doing it at a house just with a few friends. In the background, Louie was explaining what each guest would give the couple taking in consideration their personality. Geum Ja got the bouquet but I'm guessing the next wedding will be Louie and Bok Shil's. Louie was playing cupid too. He advised Ma Ri to just be herself if she wanted Joong Won to fall for her. He also told In Sung he should give up on Ma Ri if he doesn't have the courage to be rejected because Ma Ri likes Joong Won.
Seeing the wedding, Louie can't help but imagine his marriage to Bok Shil. "I should get married soon, too," he said and started practicing how he should propose using different kinds of outfits. Meanwhile, Joong Won was going on a blind date per his mother's order. On the way, he was stopped by a girl. He ignored her at first but turned back when she mentioned she wanted to sell him her ginseng (this sounds familiar, this is how he first met Bok Shil). However, this girl is more clever, she actually asked for a Singsingline contract! Joong Won instantly fell in love and bid goodbye to Bok Shil in his mind. And there goes Ma Ri's unrequited love.
Jae Sook gave Louie a video from years ago. Louie was so touched seeing it. The next day, he rented the whole cinema to play the video to Bok Shil. (I noticed he's wearing one of those suits he practiced proposing with -- It's the moment we've been waiting for). The video showed a program on Gold Line's anniversary years ago and Bok Shil attended it with her parents. Bok Shil was really touched to finally see her parents' faces, and what's more? It also showed how Louie and Bok Shil met when they were kids like the earlier prediction. "Shopping King Louie" episode 16 ended with the happy couple getting lovey-dovey at Bok Shil's house.
We didn't get to see a real Louie and Bok Shil wedding in "Shopping King Louie" episode 16 but the ending was still sweet. That's a well deserved happy ending for Butler Kim and Jung Ran and of course, Bok Shil and Louie too. Meanwhile, I think In Sung and Ma Ri have greater chances of ending up together since that Bok Shil look-alike completely ended Ma Ri's possibility of ending up with Joong Won.
