PS4 Pro has finally hit the market shelves. However, Sony's long-awaited console does not seem to be working properly, as owners are reported to experience blank screens instead of a 4K HDR picture.
It should be noted that PS4 Pro's key selling point was the features of a 4K HDR technology. However, several issues now indicate an increasing wide range of different TV brands and even a number of different AV receiver and sound bar models.
Also, a lot of other PS4 Pro owners are complaining that although they get an HDR picture, the console does not seem to recognize correctly their TV as being capable of dealing with 4K in HDR, therefore limiting them to 2K HDR signals only. The same goes with TVs that can actually manage Ultra HD Blu-rays in 4K HDR.
It appears as well that the compatibility issues are not consistent over the different types of the same TV brand. Based on reports, an LG OLED65E6 works fine with the PS4 Pro while another type does not.
That being said, the issue has become widespread, prompting an official statement on Sony's EU PlayStation Forum. A company's online support representative has reportedly acknowledged that there is a current issue and suggested a temporary solution by switching the console into its Safe Mode and change the digital rights management setting from HDCP 2.2 to 1.4.
Meanwhile, Cyber Monday deals for PS4 Pro over at eBay has reportedly been revealed. The offer will include the recently released hardware from Sony, along with a copy of Street Fighter V and Watch Dogs 2 for $399.99, which was originally offered at $499.97. With the lack of good deals being offered for the gaming console, Best Buy is expected to have a very solid offer going right now. In fact, one is coming up on Black Friday 2016 deals.
