Overwatch is arguably the hottest FPS game in 2016 - it's Blizzard's first franchise to have reached 20 million subscribers and has now reached an astonishing 43 million active users. And with the game's rising statistics, it's just natural that the competition towards the top gets tighter and fiercer. Now, a certified Master has shared his insights revealing the common mistakes that low rank players do and why they have poor skill rating.
Overwatch Tips: Common Mistakes that Leads to Poor Skill Rating
Authoritative - One of the reasons why people are paired with "bad" or salty players is because they're being too authoritative in the first place. Getting into a match and instantly telling people what to do provides negative impression to some of your teammates (which some may have just had a previously disastrous match) which leads to them playing negatively that will result in negative outcome. Communication is the key to a decisive win but do not mislead it to being too authoritative which will impair your synergy as a team. Learn to "feel" and adjust with the diverse community and improve your chances of winning.
Ultimate Feeding - : heroes' ultimate
Trashtalking - This is by far one of the most common mistakes that players in low Skill Tiers do. Trashtalking gives a lot of mental pressure not just to your enemies but also to your team as well. It creates a negative vibe and disrupts communication within your group. Not everyone likes to hear you bully or rant with someone else. If you want to disrupt your enemies' focus then do not spam it every now and then. Think about its negative impact to your team as well.
Do Not Play The Hero - Last but not the least, DJSonaSucks pointed out that one of the most common mistakes that "skilled" players do is playing the hero. It is fairly common to see people trying to perform unorthodox and insane plays to create an impression of "high-risk, high-reward" towards everyone but in actuality, it may cost you more than it merits. First off, you may end up having your entire team jump into the enemy's trap or worse, throwing the entire game with your risky plays. Overwatch is a team-based objective game and therefore, must be won with proper coordination as a team. Do not go Rambo and think that you can 1-man team the entire enemy line. You're not a superhero.
