Honda News And Update: Will 2017 CR-V Be The Next US Best Seller?

The crossover segment is considered as one of the biggest markets in the American auto industry for SUVs. Along with Ford and Toyota, Honda is one of the top contenders with its CR-V selling nearly 400,000 units on an annual basis. Consumer reports suggest that it will surely be one of the top picks in the following year. But will the 2017 Honda CR-V be the next U.S. best seller?

Engine Specs

According to a report from Auto Evolution, the 2017 Honda CR-V will mostly come with a 1.5-liter VTEC turbo four-cylinder engine that is also found in the Civic model. However, it will be capable of 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. In the same report, it was mentioned that a trim will also be available for a 2.4-liter base engine with 184 horsepower. These engines are paired with a continuous variable transmission (CVT) gearbox.

Meaner Than The Previous Models?

Forbes reported that the 2017 Honda CR-V has a body with wider, longer and higher dimensions than the previous models. It will feature a more aggressive look on its body panels, hood and grille as well as a more a muscular tire openings designed to fit bigger tires. Other features include leather seats, wood trim on the dash, emergency braking and forward collision warning.

How Does It Drive?

It was stated in the report from Auto Evolution that the 2017 Honda CR-V will be a lot quieter inside the cabin and also rides better thanks to its noise cancelling system and NVH engineering. It was also stated in the same report that some tricks were taken from the Civic model in order to make the CR-V a vehicle with more enjoyable driving experience.

Will It Be The Next Seller?

The CR-V is already considered as one of the top contenders in the SUV crossover segment. With the improvements in the new model, the possibility of it being the top seller in the U.S auto market just went higher.
