Root Guide For Nexus 7 On Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2

Now that the latest release of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update is released, it's time again to root your Nexus 7.

If you're new to Android and asking what rooting is, it can be best described as freeing and taking control of your device.

Rooting allows you to gain access to your device in a way that you normally wouldn't be allowed to. For instance, you know all those additional apps that you really don't need and would love to uninstall, but can't? You can make those apps disappear through the wonderful process of rooting. And what about those annoying ads that pop up on the free games and utility apps that you download from the Play Store? Those can be banished to non-existence as well.

Not only will you not see them, but your battery will last longer since those pesky ads also consume your device's juice.

There are apps available for download exclusively for rooted devices, like backup programs, ad blockers and program startup managers. You can make a full backup of your entire phone, including your system's settings and widgets. Ad blockers do exactly what it says and startup managers allow you control what programs run when you boot up your device. Rooting allows full customization of your device, allowing you to change your boot screen and even the entire ROM.
