Several "Alien: Covenant" reports hinted that the "Prometheus" sequel will be terrifying than the first movie. There is also some news that says Michael Fassbender will not only reprise his role as David, the android but will also play another android. This will certainly prick the interest of fans that have long been waiting for this sequel.
Who Will Be The Other Android?
The official website of "Alien: Covenant" confirmed that Michael Fassbender will also play the role of Walter, the second android. Walter will be an upgraded David, so the two will not be that same after all. "I am allowed to say I am playing two robots -- Walter and David," explained Fassbender.
The Plot Of The Upcoming Sequel
The story line of "Alien: Covenant" will pick up from where "Prometheus" left off. It will feature the story of the Covenant, a colony ship, and its crew which landed on a far-away planet where an android, David, is the only inhabitant. The Covenant has also an Android, Walter, who is supposedly assisting the ship's crew.
"I think what's great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the DNA of 'Alien,' the horror element of that," Fassbender said as quoted by Cinema Blend. "But it also has the scope and scale of Prometheus. Ridley has it already. He is a machine. He is such an incredible human being and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure," he added.
This Sequel Will Be More Terrifying
In a Collider interview, Fassbender hinted at what the fans may see in "Alien: Covenant." He said this sequel will be scarier than "Prometheus" even if it has a similar scope along with the "imminent sort of disaster feel that Alien had." The cast of this movie includes Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston and much more. Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) will also be included, although she will not have the amount of screen time that she had in "Prometheus." This movie will premiere on Aug. 4, 2017.
