Nintendo Switch Retail Sales Price Rumor: British Gaming Retailer Leaks Price; Cheaper Than Expected?

Nintendo Switch is all set for release on March 2017 but Nintendo is keeping most of the details close to its chest. However, it seems that the Japanese company can no longer keep the price a secret.

Retail Stores Reveals Wholesale Price

The British gaming supply chain GAME plans to sell the basic Nintendo Switch Unit to its retailers for at least £200 ($250). Another Switch unit that includes a bigger internal storage and bundled game will have a wholesale price of around £250 ($315), according to Laura Dale. The game included in the bundle however is unknown and Dale would not divulge the name in order to protect his source.

The retail price is considerably higher than the mentioned wholesale. But at least this gives prospective buyers an idea on how much the Switch will cost when it comes out. The Switch Pro Controller will be sold as an accessory for £40 ($50). The reported price is almost the same as the basic Xbox One or PlayStation 4 unit. One disadvantage for the Nintendo Switch is its weak processing power compared to its gaming platform rivals. It will however, feature a customized TEGRA processor from NVIDIA.

The Nintendo Switch has been reported earlier it would be region free one and the retail price would almost be the same in all markets. The video preview revealed the Nintendo hybrid console handheld device for the first time last October.

The preview also showed several possible games that may be included in the upcoming Switch. The most notable game in that video clip is the Skyrim game from Bethesda. It showed a gamer using both the console and handheld unit in playing it. While it's doubtful that a Skyrim title is bundled game in question. It's possible that it may be a Nintendo game title. The Japanese company promised to reveal more details but only in early 2017.
