2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD Update: Getting Better But Can Use More Improvements

The best vehicles of this generation took a long time and different routes before they got to where they are now. Nissan's Pathfinder however, seems to be still finding its path for it to be able to run alongside its counterparts. While it's true that the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD is definitely getting better, it can still use more improvements.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD Engine Specs

The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD now has a new direct injection 3.5-liter powerplant with higher compression ratio, variable intake-valve timing and new-design-sporting pistons. According to Car and Driver, it is now capable of 24 more horsepower and 19 lb-ft torque from its previous model that had a V6 engine with 260-hp and torque of 240 lb-ft. In the same report, it was mentioned that this powertrain is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Not Much Changes From The Previous Model

A report from Automobile Magazine, stated that the revised taillights, new hood, front end and bumper is a result of the automaker's aim of giving the Pathfinder a look that shows more aggressiveness. Due to the changes being minimal however, the difference between the two models is not that much.

Getting Better But Can Use More Improvements

The report from Car and Driver also mentioned certain areas where improvements can be made in the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. Among them include the lack of grip in corners, light steering and slow inputs reaction.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Is Not That Bad

While it's true that some improvements need to be made, there are also several good features to be found in the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. This includes a second row seat that can conveniently be tilted without removing a mounted child seat in order to gain access to the third row seat where a 16 cubic feet storage can be found. Lastly, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder also has a stowed cargo that can go to almost 50 cubic feet of space.
