‘The Bold And The Beautiful' Canceled? CBS Rumored Planning To Axe Noontime Soap

CBS already has a few shows reported for cancelation due to quite different reasons. "The Bold and the Beautiful" is the latest target in the rumor mill. For many times over, the noontime soap had already been reported in the past to be getting canceled. What is the real score behind the B&B's cancelation?

"The Bold And The Beautiful" Cancelation

For the second time around this year, "The Bold and the Beautiful" has been the target of rumors with regard to it being canceled. This time, the report about CBS' plans to axe the long-running noontime soap is because of the drop of the overall viewership this year compared to 2015. Even so, "The Bold and the Beautiful" has maintained its second spot throughout the year tailing its sister soap "The Young and the Restless."

Cancelation "A Bit Premature"

However, a report from She Knows stressed that the cancelation news of the CBS series "is a bit premature." Deemed the unbeatable stalwart in noontime soaps, CBS series "The Bold and the Beautiful" is a huge contributor to the network which is now approaching its 30th year in 2017. According to executive producer Bradley Bell, son of the show's creator William Bell, the family is happy with what has come for the soap as their family was also gunning to run the show for eight to 10 years and it exceeded their expectations.

Outstanding Viewership

Despite the decrease in viewership in America as of the latest, "The Bold and the Beautiful" was still able to garner barely 35 million viewers a day worldwide which "The Young and the Restless," "General Hospital" or "Days of Our Lives" was not able to achieve. Last week, the show sustained its second spot with a total of 3,717,000 viewers on average, up by 10,000 viewers from the week before last week.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs Mondays thru Fridays at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
