Marvel's 'The Inhumans' Loses Shot As Feature Film; To Be Aired As Television Series

Fans of the much awaited Marvel's Inhumans are in for some sad news. The superhero series about Medusa, Black Bolt and the Inhuman royal family was not fortunate enough to land a movie deal. However, Marvel Entertainment is consequently given a television offering and is bound to be aired on ABC weekly.

The latest Marvel series "The Inhumans" was announced to be shown in 2017. The last season canceled Agent Carter after two seasons and conceded on a spinoff of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." As for Marvel, they are cooperating with Hulu for an ongoing development of the comic book-based series.

According to Marvel, the initial two episodes of Marvel's "The Inhumans" are going to be featured exclusively in IMAX theaters. This first live-action television series will be run in a two-week window in late 2017.

ABC is set to premiere the hit series in the beginning of September next year. This will be exclusive for IMAX theaters and will be packed with exclusive content that can only be seen on the network. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee's 1965 creation is about superhumans and individuals with singularly unique powers.

As per reports, the IMAX digital camera filmed series has no casting available yet. However, what fans should know and expect is that this will not be a spinoff of "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." This is the case even though it already used some similarly related plots of the "Inhumans" series.

IMAX, ABC and Marvel Television will also have a new venture for joint marketing and promotion plan for the series in all social media platforms. This is a first cross-platform marketing launch of television series. This is also IMAX's first time to be a financing member in a TV pilot and series. Marvel fans can expect the eight-episode live action drama series to arrive sometime in fall 2017.
