Just today, Apple has begun seeding the 3rd beta for iOS 10.2 to developers, which introducing some notable improvements to its new TV app that was first introduced in the 2nd iOS 10.2 beta. According to reports, the TV app is a lot more functional, with supports for the upcoming feature that will keep track of what you're watching across multiple devices. The TV app has now completely replaced the former Videos app in the U.S., which has now been removed. Aside from the all-new TV app, here's a short list of some changes that is featured on the iOS 10.2 beta 3.
SOS
The SOS feature, which allowed users to make calls on emergency services by pressing the power button multiple times on the iPhone, has been removed in this beta version. According to the official release notes, the SOS feature is currently only available in India, probably for some further testing before a wider rollout.
Messages
There's an all-new "Send With Love" Screen Effect feature in Messages that will send a heart along with whatever text message you compose.
TV settings
In Settings, there's an all-new section intended for the TV app. It enables users to choose whether to use either cellular data or the streaming quality over Wi-Fi and Cellular. There's also an option that lets users choose whether to make purchases or rentals from the store in SD or HD.
iOS 10.2 Release date
Apple has only issued the 3rd beta for iOS 10.2 to its developers only today, but the new features will most likely be available to several public beta testers for further testing later this week. Since Apple has also promised a December launch for several of the features of iOS 10.2, which would include the all-new TV app, the new update could be officially released during the early weeks of next month.
