Mazda Unveils 2017 CX-5 Ahead Of LA Auto Show Debut

There are only a couple of days left before the LA Auto Show 2016 where the 2017 Mazda CX-5 is set to make its debut. The automaker has previously released a teaser image that had the fans and enthusiasts excited about the upcoming vehicle. The automaker however, gave a lot of people a surprise as the 2017 Mazda CX-5 was unveiled in a private event ahead of its debut.

The Looks Finally Revealed

When Mazda released a teaser image for the 2017 CX-5, it hinted for some new designs. What people did not expect however is that it would have a look that would make it like a smaller version of the CX-9 as stated in a report from Autoblog. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 came in an amazing paint of Soul Red Crystal, paired with slimmer headlights, a mesh patterned grille and a leaner looking taillights under a mantra called "Kodo - soul of motion" that was first introduced by Mazda in its 2013 CX-5 model.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 Powertrain

According to a report from Car and Advice, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 has three engines to choose from including the 2.0 and 2.5-liter direct-injection gasoline Skyactiv engines as well as the Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter diesel. There are no details yet regarding the torque of the engines but the 2.0-L and 2.5-L engines are capable of 155 and 184 horsepower respectively. An option for a front-wheel (FWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) is also expected to be paired with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission.

Other Features

Car and Advice also reported that a 10-speaker Bose system with enhanced noise cancelling capabilities and a floating infotainment screen in 4.6 and seven inches will be available depending on the model the buyers choose. In addition, the Active Driving Display system is now capable of navigation information projection.

LA Auto Show Debut

Fans and enthusiasts can get a closer look at it in the LA Auto Show 2016 at the LA Convention Center on Nov. 18, 2016. More details will surely be revealed at the event.
