‘The Blacklist' Season 4, Episode 9 Spoilers: Who Is The Mole? Showrunner Teases New Arc

"The Blacklist" season 4, episode 9 returns on Jan. 5, 2017 and surprisingly, some cliffhangers expected to remain in question were already answered. For one, Liz Keen's issue with Red has already been resolved, while uncertainties revolving around Alexander Kirk have also been dealt with. The remaining question now is what showrunner Jon Bokenkamp has in store to begin 2017 with a bang.

Who Betrays Red?

"The Blacklist" season 4, episode 9 latest spoilers reveal that the biggest betrayal is yet to come for Red (James Spader). As shown in episode 9's trailer preview, "someone" in his team is secretly hiding as an infiltrator and he is bound to destroy everyone in the team. How will Red find out this betrayal?

Once discovered, Red will certainly be in his worst knowing his stance over betrayal, more so the national security is in grave danger this time. It can be noted back in the previous episodes that he ditched Ms. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) after knowing her handiwork over Liz's (Megan Boone) plot to pretend her death. It remains unknown however as to who the mole is, and more importantly how will Red find out about this matter before everything comes to worse.

"A New, Really Compelling Story"

In the meantime, executive producer Bokenkamp shared a thing or two about the plot involving Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) that fans would surely want to know. Following the revelation of Red to Kirk that Liz is his daughter by genes, the nemesis is not entirely shocked about the news as he knew Katarina (Lotte Verbeek) had been having an affair with Red.

Episode 8 capped off with Red surviving the torture inflicted by Kirk. Hence, Bokenkamp teased that what Red told to Kirk will further spice things up next year. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer revealed that "a new, really compelling story" will start to grow soon.

"The Blacklist" season 4, episode 9 airs Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 on NBC.
