It waited long. It was delayed. But its arrival was inevitable. Fiat Chrysler's first SUV finally makes its American debut. The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio has rolled out and ready to make an entrance at the LA Auto Show 2016.
The Powerful 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Trims
According to a report from Motor Authority, the first two trims Stelvio and Stelvio Ti (Turismo Internazionale) are equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine capable of putting out 280 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The top trim 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV on the other hand, has a 2.9-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged engine that is also found in the Guilia Quadrifoglio. This top trim engine is capable of putting out 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, paired with a paddle-shifted eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertain allows the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV to go from zero to 60 in only 3.9 seconds with a speed that maxes out at 177 mph.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio Features
The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will come with performance features such as a Brembo carbon-ceramic material high-performance brakes and a Sparco racing seat made from ultra-lightweight carbon fiber shell to provide assist during high speed cornering. These will be available for the top trim Quadrifoglio as reported by USA Today. The interior features a seven-inch screen found in the main instrument cluster that will be available in all trims, a steering wheel inspired by Formula One with an all-aluminum column-mounted paddle shifters behind it.
The American Debut, Price And Release
Fans will be able to check out the other features at the LA Auto Show on Nov. 18, 2016 where Fiat Chrysler's first SUV finally makes its American debut. The price has not yet been revealed though according to a report from Wired. No exact release date has been revealed yet either but the SUV is expected to reach the U.S market in mid-2017.
