Sony NEX-3N Photos Leaked, Again

Press photos of the new Sony NEX-3N camera have leaked to the Web. This is the second substantial online sighting of the camera.

The first pictures of the Sony NEX-3N were leaked by Japanese site Digicame Info earlier this month. The validity of the photos is especially compelling in light of Digicame's having leaked photos of Canon's EOS M ahead of schedule last year.

If the photos are authentic, the viewer is presented with shots of what the Sony NEX-3N looks like from the front and back angles.

Electronista reports that the latest photos also revealed the new Sony A58, and that both cameras are slated for a Wednesday, Feb. 20 release.

"The NEX-3N seems to follow the path set by previous entry-level Sony mirrorless cameras, but the design is more compact and minimal than the slightly awkward NEX-F3 that's on sale at the moment, with a much shallower grip," says The Verge.

The Verge also anticipates that an official announcement on the camera's specs should be released soon. The site suggests it has analyzed the following features from the pictures:

  • New zoom lever around the shutter button for use with the 16-50mm power zoom lens
  • 16.1-megapixel APS-C sensor

Electronista added the following features on the NEX-3N based on the latest photos released:

  • Capability for using Sony 16-50mm PX and 18-200mm PZ lenses
  • Keeping an integrated flash

The A58 is aimed at professional photography consumers and will have a 20-megapixel sensor capable of 8fps shooting, according to Sony Alpha Rumours.

With a price tag of $600, the A58's body remains the same size as the A57, with a new focusing system, and will be able to be remotely accessed via computer without having Wi-Fi capabilities.
