One of the big questions after watching “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is what will be Grindelwald’s next move and is Credence still alive. Good thing the last parts of the movie gave a few hints on what to anticipate and the “Harry Potter” book as a reference to what will happen in the future.
Grindelwald's Next Move
Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore used to be really good friends. Although they both hope that they can create a new order where wizards peacefully reign over No-Maj, they do it for completely different reasons. As seen in the movie, Grindelwald is disappointed that wizard and witch rules are there, not to protect them, but to protect Muggles. As a sign of protest, he does everything he can to overturn the Statute of Secrecy which ultimately ended his friendship with Dumbledore.
Based on "Harry Potter" book, Grindelwald will be stealing the Elder Wand from its rightful owner. This means that its either he escapes prison by himself or one of his fanatics help him. A duel is expected to happen between him and Dumbledore which will lead to the latter’s victory but also the untimely death of his sister.
Is Credence Still Alive?
As for Credence, his character is a bit of a mystery and his background wasn’t really mentioned in the books of “Harry Potter”. However, it can be recalled that Newt noticed a small piece of his elemental being moving up in the air. This could mean that this isn’t the last time Credence will be seen in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie series. In addition, his character exit seemed to be too soon, considering how strong they say he is to withstand the power of an Obscurus that long. The only question is if which side will he be joining.
