Pokemon Sun and Moon are two different titles which are about to debut today on the 3DS platform. Now that we're on the launch day of the latest Pokemon iteration, let's discuss on which one is more suited for your taste and which one should you get. Today, we'll help you decide which of the two titles: Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon is "better" and the one that you should get once they both go live.
First off, we're going to start the article with a premise that whichever you choose between the two titles, you'll eventually be intertwined with the same storyline as the other with only a slight storytelling variance. Nonetheless, there is still a considerable diversity between the two and we will be elaborating it all here.
Pokemon Sun
One of the differences between Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon that players should know is that, according to the official Pokemon website:
"Pokémon Sun operates on the same time as your Nintendo 3DS system, but time in the world of Pokémon Moon is shifted by 12 hours."
Basically, the world where you play one of the newest Pokemon iteration is 12 hours apart from the other - meaning, it'll be sunny on the other while the other has a moonlit ambiance throughout its storyline. (note: this is subject to change on specific scenarios and quests)
Aside from this, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Mooon have their own legendaries. In Pokemon Sun, we have Solgaleo, the deity of the Pokemon Sun universe. Its signature move is called Sunsteel Strike. This is an attack that charges into the opponent with a force of a meteor, ignoring target's ability. Another of its unique ability is called Full Metal Body, an entirely new ability that no other pokemon possesses which gives him the power to resist any negative and weakening effects from the opponent's abilities.
Pokemon Moon
Just like how Pokemon Sun has its own legendary pokemon, the Pokemon Moon universe also has its own deity and that is, Lunala. Lunala is said to absorb light and glitter the energy like a crescent moon. Its signature ability is Moongeist Beam which is an attack that releases a beam of light that ignores the target's ability. Another unique ability that Lunala has is called Shadow Shield which is also an entirely new ability that no other pokemon possesses. This skill gives the pokemon the ability to take less damage from an attack if it (user) has full HP.
The last notable difference between the two titles are the critters which that fills the map. Basically, you wouldn't see an owl during the day, right? Well, that rule also apply in the Pokemon universe. Aside from that, there's not much of a difference between the two titles and therefore, it goes down to which legendary pokemon and ambiance do you prefer. If you're a nyctophilia, then the serenity and ambiance of the night in Pokemon Moon will definitely give you an amazing experience as you play the game. But if you prefer a sunnier environment then we suggest picking Pokemon Sun for you.
