Ever since the Amazon Echo was introduced over two years ago, it has been one of the tech world's most successful and most popular items. Its driving force, Alexa, has proven itself in the world of virtual assistants. More importantly she continues to do so by changing with the times - like providing its users with some exclusive deals that begin on Black Friday and continue to December.
As C|Net notes, Amazon kicked off its debut "voice shopping" weekend on Friday and will continue on until the year ends. However, the deals are only available for Prime customers and owners of the Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, Tap, Fire HD tablet and Fire TV. The deals change every day as well, but the online retailer will provide a US$5 gift card for every deal over $10.
For this debut weekend, Alexa will provide the Amazon Tap at US$50 off its regular price and US$80 off a 32 inch Samsung 1080p LED TV. There are also deals for the Beyerdynamic Limited Edition Headphones, as well as a Philips Hue LED Starter Kit with two bulbs and Hue Bridge Hub at US$80 and US$30 off respectively. There are also deals available for Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate and the Lego Classic Large Creative Brick Box. The specific days these will be available, however, were not provided.
As Fox News adds, the idea behind the Alexa-driven shopping days was the need to provide a new experience for online shopping. All the user needs to ask is, "What are your deals?" The best thing is that it will not end with Black Friday and Cyber Monday as Amazon has promised that the exclusive deals will be available every day in November and December.
"Voice shopping with Alexa takes the hassle out of the holidays, giving customers the ability to order from millions of items simply by saying the word," Assaf Ronen, vice president of Amazon voice shopping said.
