'Outlander' Star Sam Heughan Recalls Failed Attempt At Dating; Admits His Character Is More Masculine Than Him

Following reports that "Outlander" star Sam Heughan is allegedly dating actress Mackenzie Mauzy, the actor recently talks about relationship and his failed attempt at dating in the past.

In a recent interview with Elle Canada, the "Outlander" hunk shared how he miserably failed in dating during his teenage years. Heughan recalled how he asked a girl he was interested in on Valentine's Day. Apparently, the young Heughan left some wine, glasses and flowers on the girl's doorstep. The next day, he received a call warning him to leave the girl alone and to stop stalking her.

The 36-year-old actor also shared his thoughts about his character in "Outlander." Heughan admitted that his role, Jamie Fraser, is more masculine than him in real life. He then went on to explain that Jamie is "a man of his time" and at the same time, "forward thinking."

"I suppose he's very much a man of the time isn't he? But at the same time he's quite forward thinking." Heughan shared. "He's always changing his opinion, or at least he's being forced to change by Claire and to see these things in a new way. I guess he's a lot more masculine than I am. He certainly would never have makeup on his face or get his hair done in the morning. So maybe we are very different? But I think I am a man of my time and that's the difference."

Meanwhile, the actor was recently caught in a dating rumor with rising star Mackenzie Mauzy. The pair recently attended the BAFTA Awards in Scotland. The "Outlander" heartthrob proudly escorted the stunning actress during the said event.

So far, both Heughan and Mazy have not confirmed or denied the dating rumors being thrown at them. "Outlander" Season 3 is expected to release sometime next year.
