"The Walking Dead" Season 7 continues to send fans on the edge of their seats with thrilling episodes every week. Recently, fans were sent into panic mode when speculations arise that the next character to be killed off is none other than Carl (Chandler Riggs).
Yes, that sweet little child turned into a tough teenage boy right before our eyes. His character has been through so much ever since the series began back in 2010. And it looks like the worst is yet to come.
Apparently, it all started when Chandler Riggs' real father, William, posted something on Facebook that could possibly hint the future of Carl in the hit zombie-themed series, "The Walking Dead." The said photo featured William and Chandler in a proud father-and-son moment. But what really caught fans' attention is the caption which reads: "7-year contract completed! Grateful to AMC, Cast & Crew, TWD fan base and especially Chandler for always being 100% dedicated."
The proud father then went on to say, "Whether it was getting up at 4am, working in the freezing cold past 2am, leaving his friends and carefree kiddom behind, scrambling to make up missed schoolwork, he has done it without complaint and always made me proud & amazed to be his dad!"
Fans were totally freaking out with the said message, leading them to speculations that the end might be around the corner for Rick's son in "The Walking Dead" Season 7. However, there were some who find a glint of hope in the said post claiming that a seven-year contract coming to end doesn't necessarily mean another might not get signed. This might sound sensible considering the fact that "The Walking Dead" has been confirmed to be renewed for Season 8. Could Chandler be signing a new contract for another season or is it 'bye-bye Carl' for good?
There's a possibility that Chandler will sign a new contract for "The Walking Dead" Season 8. However, don't get your hopes too high yet especially since the 17-year-old actor recently announced his plans to go to college next year. In fact, Chandler even shared the news on Twitter, revealing that hat he has been accepted to Auburn University for 2017. How can he go to college and be on the show at the same time?
With all the speculations, Chandler's mother took the initiative to calm down his worried fans. In an Instagram post, the actor's mother replied to a fan comment, saying, "Don't over analyze. His seven-year contract is up. That's all he was saying, nothing else. Pretty big accomplishment for a child actor (and for the parent who had to quit his job for this child to be able to follow his dream)."
So far, Chandler has been worryingly silent about the speculations. The actor has not confirmed or denied the said rumors, just like any TWD stars that already parted the series. Is Carl really going to be killed off "The Walking Dead" soon? If so, how will this affect Rick and the group? Only time can tell how the future unfolds for our beloved Carl Grimes.
