The Sacramento Kings' big man, Demarcus Cousins, is now being rumored to be traded to other NBA teams. In particular, the Lakers, the Cavaliers, and the Warriors are reportedly competing to have the superstar. As soon as the Kings' minority owner Shaquille O'neal dropped a hint that the team is finally letting go of Cousins, the trade rumor mill has been heating up and won't let the center have his peace.
Previous reports have it that 2017 is the right time to let go of what O'neal referred to as "Hothead." Cousins has an extended contract with the Kings which is yet to end in 2018, but with his impossible behavior that has kicked a few coaches out of the team and has been costing the franchise owners a big deal of money is said to be enough reason for him to go. The unfortunate part about this though is the news that the Kings will send Cousins off to another team later this year or early in January.
Now that the Kings are seemingly fed up of Cousins, several teams are willing to take the risk and pick up the undeniably performing big man.
Starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports are currently swirling claiming that the Kings are ready to let go of Cousins for yet another superstar namely Kevin Love. The Cavaliers already has LeBron James, but with the current standings of the teams and the trend of the past seasons, experts are expecting the Cavs to face the Warriors again in the finals. With the Warriors roster boasting three NBA All-stars, the Cavs are said to need more than just one man to stand against three impeccable talents.
Cousins has been rendering good game plays in his team's recent games. He is even considered as one of the best centers so far. With skills like his adding up with LeBron's, the Cavs are said to have a good chance of beating the Warriors this season.
Yet Cousins is so hot in the trading business these days that he is also being rumored to join the Golden State Warriors. Although his name being associated with a Klay Thompson trade deal is obviously a mere rumor, fans are wondering what it will be like for the GSW to have Durant and Cousins pissing off the other members.
While O'Neal has been blaming Cousins for the troubles within the team, the 26-year-old player is reportedly blaming the Kings' overall poor performance for his desire to move to a better team. It is being pictured how the GSW will have a good offensive play with Cousins in the paint while Curry and Durant takes the outer core. The team is said to be a difficult competition for other teams even with Thompson and Rudy Gay teaming up for the Kings.
Finally, the Los Angeles Lakers are said to be playing a third party role to the Cavs and the Warriors trade deal with the Kings. Lakers is reportedly losing Calderon, Randle, and Williams but will take several more through Cousins along with a second-round draft pick from the Kings, plus Mo Williams and the Cavs' first-round draft pick.
The trade rumor mill is indeed spinning a lot faster these days. While the players are still busy working their way up to the finals, critics and so-called NBA experts are busy coming up with trade talks. As for the question if it is already time to send off Cousins, he is currently topping the records with good average points, but he is still expected to push it harder and lead the Kings to the finals.
Sure, everyone's thirsty of a championship title. With Cousins never getting the chance to play in a championship game, teaming up with a roster of ace players will indeed be good for his career. However, with people behind the Cavs resenting him, he may not necessarily transfer this time of the season, but his journey to another team is much clearer and shorter this time.
