Pokemon Sun And Moon Guide: How To Get Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo And Lunala

Many Pokemon Sun And Moon players are clamoring to get their hands on both Solgaleo and Lunala in Nintendo's newest 3DS Pokemon game. Getting both Legendary Pokemon in either version is possible. Here's a guide on how to do it.

Getting Cosmog In Pokemon Sun And Moon

Cosmog is the Pokemon that will evolve to either Solgaleo or Lunala. To get Cosmog, you need to become the champion of the Alola region by completing the story of Pokemon Sun and Moon. Once that is done, you need to head straight into Poni Island and to the Altar of the Sun or Altar of the Moon depending on which game you have.

Once you arrive at the Altar, you will see a portal you can interact with respectively at the opposite time with whichever version of the game you have. If you have the Pokemon Sun, then you can go through the portal at night time, and if you have the Pokemon Moon then you can only go through it during the day. Travel through to Ula'ula Island, or the third island in Pokemon Sun and Moon, after you've gone through the portal.

There should be a place on the left-hand side called Lake of the Sun or Lake of the Moon, head to it through Route 16 or you can use Charizard to Ride On and fly to it directly. Once there, follow the path until you reach a big open area where a cutscene will take place. Lunala and Solgaleo will both appear to form Cosmog for you.

How To Get Both Solgaleo And Lunala In Pokemon Sun And Moon

It is possible to get both Solgaleo and Lunala in Pokemon Sun And Moon. After getting Cosmog, boost it with a Lucky Egg from professor Kukui and level it up. At level 43 Cosmog will evolve into Cosmoem and at level 53, Cosmoem will evolve into the Legendary Pokemon depending on the version of your game.

There are no other ways to get the other version's exclusive Pokemon. So if you have Pokemon Moon, you cannot get Pokemon Sun's exclusive Pokemon in your game except for one way. To get both Legendary Pokemon would require two runs in Pokemon Sun and Moon's storyline until you get another Legendary Pokemon. If you have Pokemon Moon, you can get Lunala again after finishing the game twice then trade it for a Solgaleo. Although this might be a bit of a grind, getting both Legendary Pokemon in one game is well worth the ache in your thumbs.
