2016 has seen some of the best smartphone technologies ever. Samsung, Apple, LG and OnePlus all had something big to show off this year. With that, smartphone fanatics are getting excited for what these companies have in store for 2017. Rumor has it that these companies' upcoming flagships will be bumped up even more with technologies you've never seen before. Here are some of the rumors and calculated predictions we've heard about next year's flagships.
Galaxy S8
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to launch February or March of 2017. Among the rumored specs of the Samsung flagship include having no home button and having less bezels. This means that the S8 could feature an all-display look and have its fingerprint sensor embedded underneath the display. Additionally, next year's Samsung S device will probably be 4K ready and its display resolution could also bump up to 3840 x 2160 pixel resolutions. Nevertheless, there are also talks about S8 not having a flat screen variant. This means that there's a good chance that the Galaxy S8 will come in multiple variants with curved screens. An AI named Bixby is also probably showing up in this flagship and come with its own button.
OnePlus 4
The OnePlus 3T was just recently revealed and it's almost literally an improved version of the OnePlus 3. With that said, it's safe to say that OnePlus is saving the major upgrades for the OnePlus 4. Rumor has it that the 2017 OnePlus device will have an improved display resolution. The OnePlus 3 compromised its display to maintain the phone's "flagship for half the price" offer and it's possible that the company will no longer retain its 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution on the OnePlus 4. Furthermore, the phone's RAM could also increase from 6 GB to 8 GB. The processor could be a Snapdragon 830 and the battery size is less likely to go lower than 3000 mAh in size.
Galaxy Note 8
The Note 8 is still raw news right now. This phablet device usually launches mid-year so we'll probably not hear a lot about it until the S8 gets launched in a few months' time. Nevertheless, what's certain right now is that the Note 8 is a sure go. There may have been a bunch of cancellation rumors a few months ago but as it turns out, the Note 8 is indeed coming in next year. As to the device's features, there are news about a super-improved and high-tech stylus. There's also a good chance that the phone will inherit a lot of its predecessor's traits that the consumers have been deprived of enjoying.
Apple iPhone 8
Apple's iPhone 8 is the company's tenth iPhone, making it more special than its latest predecessors. With that, it is expected that the iPhone 8 will have major changes and super innovated features. Among the expected iPhone 8 traits include an all-glass frontal, display fingerprint sensor, curved edges and more. Hopefully though, despite the phone being an anniversary iPhone, it won't be increasing its price so much. Nevertheless, there's no doubt that the iPhone 8 will be bigger news than the recently released iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
LG V30
The LG V20 has just been released but rumors about the LG V30 have already started. Popular leakster evleaks has mentioned the device recently and as per a GSM Arena report, LG might actually ditch the ticker that the V series has been known for. So far, this is the only clue we have about the LG V30. However, it's kind of a reliable one. This leakster has been a good source of hints for upcoming smartphones. Nevertheless, more rumors and news could surface once the V30's launch date gets nearer. Right now, we're practically almost a year away from the flagship's expected release.
